I don't have any info. about interactions with risperdal, but as far as your worries about Effexor, I switched from Effexor to Cymbalta with no tapering and didn't really notice any side effects at all. Pristiq is also in the same antidepressant family.

I know what you mean about getting withdrawals if you miss even one dose. No fun.
