You're grieving for the loss of the relationship you had with your housemaster. It hurts like hell, but it's normal.

As for your relationship with your parents... me too, me too.

And you always deserve responses, love and attention simply because you are A) human B) a friend C) wonderful and completely loveable. (Or all of the above. )

It is NOT your fault for the relationship with your parents, any more than it is mine with my own. Sometimes parents can fail with the showing of affection thing, and so much more at the same time.
