I heard recently (can't remember when or where) that being overweight can effect whether you get a job. But not for the reason you might be thinking...."don't like how I look."

With medical plan costs going through the roof an employer will choose the thinner person. And may even sacrifice qualification because statistically the thinner person is less of a health risk.
