Years ago I had a pdoc that did not swear *at* me, but loved to use the f-word. In women's group, it wouldn't be unusual for him to discuss how fantasies are normal and how he had already f'd each of us in his fantasies. Curiously, he was so charismatic that it didn't come off as a red flag to any of us at the time. He would enter the room and it seemed like he brought sunshine with him..he was so positive and upbeat. I haven't been his patient for years.

About three years ago I found out he had a mental disease that affected his judgement, etc.. He's the Pdoc that's in federal prison (not for anything he did with me.). Sad.

It's difficult for patients to know how stable our therapists are.
Wow. That is so awful and tragic. It is very hard to know if someone is stable especially when clients are struggling with their own problems.
