Birthdays aren't happy days to everyone.

I don't like my birthday - it's a reminder of many different negative things that have gone on in my life. I'm often forgotten about or cancelled on.

It's became such a habit that really, I view birthday wishes as fake. If it's announced somewhere (like on fb) and then everyone starts posting? They aren't sincere, they're just being polite.

I get nothing positive out of it, so I keep my birthday private. If someone remembers on their own accord and sends me a message, well, that means the world.
