I love reading posts about what it's like to be an adult with BP because I have an 11 year old son diagnosed with a mood disorder (and ADHD, unspecified anxiety and depression disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, and OCD). He's been wanting to kill himself since he was 7, when we decided that talk therapy wasn't cutting it, and we started him on meds. We've tried different things but mainly Concerta, Abilify and Prozac. He currently takes 27mgs Concerta and 30 Prozac and it's taking the edge off, but he still cycles between manic and depressive a lot. In addition he has a learning disability--he's a very slow processor--but high in spatial intelligence. The poor guy is very confused and feels very alone. I would love to hear from adults with BP who may have experienced a similar childhood, or parents who have a similar kind of child.

I'm looking into the Brain Balance center and hoping that neurofeedback can help. I would love to know if anyone else out there has tried neurofeedback.

Thank you!

Hi Sarah,

How is your son? I hope he feels better now. I started using neurofeedback half a year ago to treat my anxiety and depression, and I was impressed what modern technology could do. Really wonder how did you find your treatment and whether it helped
