Lower doses of seroquel are more sedating. As the dosage increases it acts as an AP and mood stabiliser to an extent. I was stable on 900 mg XR for a couple years before I dropped it and spent 6 months hypo manic before turning mixed and going back on meds. 400 mg and up is usually a stabilising dose depending how you react to meds.
