has anyone ever wondered who it is in the relationship that first brings this subject up in regards to there child when not in a religious context?

mellors, my doctor (a male) told me that it is usually the man who wants it done if he himself is circumcised so that father and son will look the same. THat's not my opinion, just what I was told by an obstetrician who has worked with many couples to deliver their babies. In my own marriage, my husband is circumcised but neither of us wanted that procedure for our baby boys, if we had them. I'm really glad he had that stance, as I really didn't want my sons to be circumcised. In the end, though, we had two girls!

there is also a darker side to it and thats to make it look astetically pleasing to the eye for the females

Huh??? Where did you ever get that, mellors? Why do you think women in general prefer the circumcised look? Both types look OK to me, but I think I do somwhat prefer the natural, uncircumcised look. However, my husband is circumcised and I certainly didn't let that stand in the way of our marriage, and I wouldn't ever tell him that (hurt feelings, etc.). After all, he can't help what happened to him as an infant.
