Happy belated birthday....I hope you are feeling a bit better. I wanted to make certain you were getting help for your depression. I mean it is a normal reaction to feel upset after getting rejected from the college of your choice (that was me in 1984--I ended up going to the state college rather than the high priced local favorite private college--later I would joke about how I the state paid me to attend school because it was so cheap and there was a lot of financial aid back then) but at the time I felt my life was over! However to be so depressed that it affects your grades over several grading periods is NOT a normal reaction to stress or a unhappy event. If your are not seeing a mental health professional I would encourage it! Let me know what happens as I really care and want you feeling better. Also you may want to try talking to your parents about your mood--if that is a posibility--and about perhaps delaying charging you rent until you feel better and get back on your feet. Don't worry about not knowing what you want to do--no one at your age REALLY knows what they want to do. Take some advice from an older guy who wishes he did just that at your age--do what you LIKE to do and not what you feel you should do or that makes the most money, helps the most people, etc.. First treat yourself to things you like then you will be surprised how much energy and resources you have to accomplishing all the necesities of life. Be well, young lady
