My advice is just to tell the dentist that Vicodin doesn't work for you. This is assuming that they will send you home with pain meds. Be sure to tell him of your lowered tolerance for pain and I'm sure he'll be sympathetic. I completely understand about your fear of pain and dentists, etc. I am 27 and can't bring myself to go even though I NEED to really bad and I have dental insurance. LOL. And I was just telling my kids, it's nothing to be afraid of. But then again, I'm afraid to leave the house....I'm also really weird about getting carded, it feels like being a kid and getting caught doing something you're not supposed to !
