I'm leaving, said the little girl
I'm too confused to stay
My mother isn't here to show me
I am alone all day

I'm going where the air is pure
and where the fairies play
I'm going where i feel secure
inside myself I stay

And when my brother gets annoyed
at sister's checking out
He'll belittle and abuse me
And I will cry and shout

But no-one hears my cries of fear
and so I go away
To magical places where the princess
wins and always gets her way

My fairy godmother is my guide
watching over me as i go
my pumpkin carriage is my ride
my clothes and shoes do glow

No longer sad, my smile is wide
in happily ever after
with friends who love me at my side
and days of playful laughter
