Well I can. I told my parents such and what did they do? They took my phone and car keys away! They said, "Your problem is that you need to control it, not go to the doctor. It's all in your head. I don't remember what happened after I ran to my room and locked my door. But I did wake up to a very dirty room this morning. I think I had a rave attack then a seizure. I really need help... But I think it probably just is all in my head...

Hi PinYoda,
Thanks a lot for sharing. If not in your head, where should it be? Depression is a mental health condition. You may have depression or not, anyway your parents are not certified to establish that. It is a doctor who has the ability and the knowledge to distinguish between regular mood changes due to adolescence and depression. If I could talk to your parents I would ask them: "what are you afraid of? Why don't you want your child to go to the doctor to confirm a diagnosis? If you, parents, are right, well, the best way to prove your child wrong is to bring the case to a doctor. Only a professional would be able to evaluate the mental health of your child. And... What about if you are wrong and your child does have a mental health condition that needs to be treated? "
