When I was in the hospital 4 years ago being treated for my ed (and a boatload of other problems) they assigned me a nutritionist. She explained a few things about why my body was doing certain things, but I only saw her twice (other things/problems got in the way).

Well now, (obviously) I'm contemplating seeing one.
I have no appetite thanks to some new meds and I really do NOT want to go back down that road again, even though I'm not exactly upset about the weight I've been losing.

Just wondering what it's like to actually see one.
I've seen a nutritionist fairly regularly outpatient for probably the last 6 years. And off and on before that for the last 20, mostly when I was hospitalized or in an inpatient program. For me, I know a fair amount about nutrition, what I should be eating, how many kcal I should be eating etc. (I think a lot of people with EDs do), I just...don't do it. A nutritionist for me, especially has an outpatient has been kind of a source of accountability and reassurance. They weight you once a week or however often you see them, for mine, I kept a food journal and we'd go over that and discuss where I could add things to get some more kcals in, she'd constantly reassure me I wasn't going to get fat, we'd continually go over equations determining basal metabolic requirements (I have a biochem background), things like that. I hope that answered your question. If not, please ask further.
Thanks for this!
