What you have just done (both of you) is a great step in getting the help you need, and "reaching out."imo
Is there any personality type that you ever felt you could talk to, such as a teacher, doctor, pastor, neighbor etc? If so, what were the qualities that let you share and feel comfortable with them?
Of course I always think finding a licensed psychologist is the best way to go. It's their job to lead you to be able to reach out when you need to, and still feel and be safe

If you aren't able to do the face to face sessions, there are some who do online therapy (DocJohn has links right here at PC)
If you don't feel you are ready for that, then work at posting little by little of your thoughts, needs and wishes. Take your time, test the waters. Do only what you are comfortable with.
