Yes... I think that you need to ask your T what her policy is on communicating with parents and you can provide your own input of your guidelines. You and your T could even sign a contract to make it more solid in both of your minds.

Without this agreement you will not get anywhere.

In order to make progress you will need to be able to talk to your T honestly so it is important to find the trust of your T, then move forward. If you feel that you can not get this with this T then you need to change T's perhaps. You need to be truthful and real in order to make progress.
