Hello! I have NOT always had the cognitive issues nor the bad balance issues I have now. I have not always used a walker (a sporty red one ) because I'm afraid to walk long distances unaided. Yes, I have slight spastic CP but it hasn't stopped me from walking all over town....I don't drive due to visual stuff. They won't give me a true diagnosis so that I can begin the Disability process. Heck, my first Neuro doc stated that she would not consent to help because "all you would do is lay in bed all day and sleep."
I am so done with doctors right now and it's making me crazy skeptical. I'm becoming convinced that NO ONE can help me and if I had even more serious problems that it would be pointless to see a doctor here in our "rural area" (that's what insurance calls us even though I live in a college town in Central CA) because they would rather see you kick the bucket than lift a finger to help.
Yes, I am new here. I have acceptance issues. There is SOMETHING going on with me but no one wants to help. Oh, but they sure do want to over bill insurance and collect their fee.
Rant over.

Just an idea, if you're in central CA, you're a couple hours away from some of the best neurological hospitals in the country. UCLA comes to mind. How far away are you from LA? Do you have any way of getting any significant distance? Might give you a better chance of getting a true diagnosis.
