I am sorry to hear that you are currently struggling with motivational issues.

This is understandably affecting your grades.

Feeling numb ..... yes I do understand what this feels like.

Procrastination - yes, then this becomes the response to your feeling so you don't do your homework.

When we get confused on topics it is easy to distance ourself if we no longer understand it.

Then it just really becomes boring because most of what gets explained to us flies right over our head.

So it becomes like someone making you watch the most boringggggggggg film ever that you really couldn't be bothered watching and would be inclined to not watch much.

It's a cycle.

Just a few suggestions here I'm thinking off the top of my head -

I am wondering, is there any maths assistance available to you at school in terms of extra lessons that may help you catch up?

If not, would your teacher possibly be able to recommend someone who does extra tuition?

Also - the internet has a wealth of information on most maths topics.

So if you googled the topic you're stuck on in maths you should find "explanations" of concepts. You can't really apply the concept if you didn't understand it in the first place.

Also, take the topic (I use it as pure illustration only) - type the "topic word" followed by "workheet" and see what you find. Reason is you may find a lot of resources on the topic you are currently on online placed there for teachers. You may be able to find additional resources in terms of problem solving questions. Most of those come with solutions so you can check if you're right. So if the topic algebra type algebra worksheet or algebra worksheet with answers and see what you get. Have a go at it and check if your responses were correct. If incorrect, try figure out why.

Also, routine is key here.

Naturally, your routine due to your circumstances has become somewhat disrupted and you're procrastinating on this homework thing.

Try get into one.

I know it sounds yuck.

But you kind of have to go on "autopilot mode".

And say to yourself when I get home I am going to commit to XYZ and think about what times.

Hang in there.
