I think it helps, I've been doing it weekly for over a year. We have had to go through triggers and try to correct my absurd avoidance behavior, so sometimes it's really tough and I feel like it's making things worse. But I realize that it's helping me face my fears and I am strengthened because of it. It also helps me "unload" on someone trustworthy, as opposed to my compulsive desire to tell someone about my problems or things I feel guilty about.
