No, I don't believe that. There are too many different religions that believe different things for any one way to be right. For example, some people believe that to be cremated is a desecration of the body, and a sin. That to my mind is ridiculous, since many cultures have chosen this type of end for a body.

I believe the soul carries burdens that it carries, whether the burdens are caused by negative action, or simply carrying the burdens of other peoples emotions. I don't believe he'll or heaven is a location. I do believe in the soul as a kind of magnetic energy that is attracted to itself. But I think the soul returns to being a part of the energy made up of all living things on the earth.

What would he'll be to a bad person? A place where everyone was happy and he/she couldn't hurt anyone? Much like heaven is described. People too often attribute the mystery of heaven/he'll into descriptions of places, rather then understanding that all of the physical would be left behind. There isn't a party - there isn't a table with your favorite foods, and your dog by your side. There is a complete returning to the energy that is a part of all things.

Perhaps that energy will ball together again and become an individual with similar thoughts and problems of a person who lived before, much like re-incarnation. And perhaps lessons that could have been learned in previous lives will be learned in future ones. Then the energy that moved in a tight stressful circle will be remade into a lighter, brighter happier ball of new energy.

The wonderful thing is, we each start fresh. We each must try to be kind. Not cause pain for others. But also - keep the spirit clean from judgement, and closed minded beliefs where their is all or nothing. The motivation to be kind should be because, being considerate and honest, and charitable makes it easier to care for ourselves and easier to live among others. Not from fear of invisible punishments.

If there is a God, shouldn't everyone understand that it is not a human like form with a gavel in one hand and jail cell keys in another. But a god of snowflakes, and butterflies, understanding and all things glorious and wondrous throughout the universe and beyond. A god of purpose, growth and change. Never just the black and white definitions that limited human minds can conceive.
