A lot of the times it is being said how meditation can contribute to depersonalization etc. This might be true, but on the other hand, the potential is already in you, you are just showing it in meditation, where you continue to run from what is to be felt. So nothing special really adds on ... you are just who you are in mediation therefore ...

However, I think the following article is a very good one in showing how we bring this defenses into the meditation and how we sometimes think we are making progress, but in fact we're still the same.

Although I still agree meditation can contribute to be more mindfull and to be able to at least not act out the anger on the others and rather be whatever you are, even if you are avoidant for example.

Here is the article. It's a bit long, but it is worth reading. I was fascinated but how well it is constructed. It shows many things: how everyone has wounds, how we all use similar defenses and therefore nothing specialy wrong with this, how this applies to meditation, etc.
