He sounds like a really nice man. Unlike your ex, he seems very sensitive, in that, he doesn't want to hear about the bad stuff. Maybe it would be better if you were to keep the details to yourself, if he is not ready to hear them. It may hurt him to much to know how bad things were. There is no need to rush things, take things slow. He will know who you are or will ask for clarification when he is ready.
