It is a wonderful event. I just found out I way underestimated how many people were there tonight. They served almost 600 people. I am fairly certain it is one of the largest special needs prom events in the country, but we've been doing this now for 21 years. Other schools in our district do this on a bit smaller scale, but it is a growing movement.

I attended an inservice at the end of the year last year about the various Circle of Friends organizations in our district. The regular ed members from our high school spoke, and they have such passion and love for working with our special needs students. I knew that by having watched my sons dote over "their" kids throughout the last several years, but it was moving to see that this kind of involvement has the same effect on every single student who gets involved with Circle of Friends. It is one of the larger and most active organizations at our school.
Thanks for this!
