1. scream as loud as you can
2. punch a pillow
3. draw in red all over where you want to cut
4. snap an elastic band against your wrist
5. ice cube against your wrist
6. hot bath
7. write it all out in a journal
8. sketch
9. go for a run
10. walk dogs if you have one

check out the Distractions sticky at the top of the self injury forum, and the Reasons Not To sticky. they usually help me.

it also helps me to think of my body as my baby. you wouldn't cut, scratch, burn or purge your baby, would you? so why do it to yourself?
