Amen, Zenobia!!
Blackdragon, I am soo sorry about what you're going through. It hurts to feel like you are your parent's last priority.

(((hugs))) <-- if you want them. It's just awful feeling that way. It makes it harder to deal with the rest of your life, because of all the bad feelings you develop about yourself and your sense of safety and being wanted in the world. And it's even worse when you look outside of the child-parent relationship for the love that you don't get from them, and they resent everything you do to try to find more love (rabbits, extracurricular activities, etc). I really feel for you.
Unfortunately I have also known in my life what it's like when a parent doesn't recognize the importance of your pets. My dad used to hurt my pets.

When a child or teenager lives in a bad environment and doesn't get enough love and care, her pets can be like her soulmates, I know! I remember being a little tiny girl and holding my puppy Rootbeer, as I sat on my porch and just cried because of how sad and lonely I was. That puppy was my best friend in the world. And I couldn't tell anyone about why I was so sad. I can imagine you have bonded with your rabbits even more, because you've had them for so long!! They've been a huge part of your life since you were very young. I really wish for you that you can find a way to keep them.
((((blackdragon))))
