Is anxiety associated with Bipolar? I have been wanting to get something for it for months now, but I cannot due to not being able to get a psychiatrist easily and the fact they hate to prescribe it because apparently it is addictive.

Anyways, I always get very anxious at night. It happens due to intrusive and repetitive thoughts. Sometimes it happens in the morning too.

I know I'm anxious because:
•I have a hard time controlling my thoughts
•I often reach straight for melatonin to sleep and avoid my thoughts harassing me
•I start to twist/knot my hair and pull and rip it out
•I chew the heck out of the inside of my mouth (biting my lips and cheeks)
•I am restless as I roll around in my bed and sometimes stare into space
•I just wish for an escape
•Sometimes I get negative and a thought of suicide pops into my mind, but I am more often than not really good at pushing those away (I made an attempt about 4 years ago and promised myself I would not try again because of a lot of good that has come into my life since then)
•I might stay up late doing something to distract myself (usually online) because it's only when I'm doing nothing that anxiety is a problem
•I will get scared if I hear an unexpected noise
•I will really want to drink
•Rarely I will scratch myself
•I find myself wishing I never had any responsibilities

I think that's it. It's a real struggle. I'd love to be rid of it someday. I just don't know how to be. :/
