My only tip on trying to avoid binging on foods you know you don't really want to eat is to remind yourself that sugar is addictive, and once you have a bunch, you'll want more the next day and the next, and you'll want your fix, and it takes days for that feeling to go away. Ask yourself, do I really want to play the sugar addiction/withdrawal game again? before you eat. Even in social situations. If people pressure you into eating things you know you shouldn't weight the pros and cons and politely decline their offers if that's what you choose. It's a hard battle to fight, and I've been there a thousand times, but it's a battle worth winning. Your health is important.
