My "hallucinations" are less severe. The only way I know they're not real is because they only happen when I am in a mixed state. I just hear my name called repeatedly, in different voices, including my father's (he's been dead for 17 years). I also see people out of the corner of my eye. I used to see someone attacking me from behind but I haven't had that in years.
However my paranoia can get quite severe. Last year around this time I was trapped in a bathroom at group because I thought all the people could read my thoughts and were trying to get me to kill myself through telepathic messages. That was terrifying.

Of course it is happening inside your head. But why on earth should that mean that it is not real?

That’s life. If nothing else, that is life. It’s real. Sometimes it
f—-ing hurts. But it’s sort of all we have.
