Hi i turned 16 a month ago, just last friday i was diagnosed with ADHD and the psych had prescribed me ritalin (10mg) tablets to help me concentrate during class. I had used saturday and sunday to adjust to this new change and had wanted to get comfortable with the tablets before school began. The doctor explained i should take it in 4 hour intervals so from 8am-12pm-4pm with 2 tablets at 8, 2 tablets at 12 and 1 tablet at 4. I did so and i was able to feel the difference of being under the influence of ritalin but nothing too significant in terms of concentration. what i did notice however was that my heart was pumping faster than usual which is a common side effect and rare occasions of genuine concentration but it was short lived. i followed the same dosage on monday and i received even more side effects which would be anxiety, more agitated than usual and a bit better concentration but i wanted to lower the dosage to 10 mg each dose so 1 at 8am-12pm and 4pm due to concerns with my heart rate and anxiety. today i wasn't able to see any significant change in concentration but this anxiety is a reoccuring side effect which is become really concerning. is it the dosage of the ritalin that im doing wrong? or should i ask the psych for something else?
