Hi IDM,
"
What are you opinions of simply stop taking depression/anxiety meds?" DON'T!!!!
It's one thing
trying to
gradually reduce them, but just stopping.........well that's a
completely different thing!!!
PLEASE DON'T!!!
"
Personally, I have never been a fan of ANY human being taking any kind of medicines "for the rest of your life".
You know I do
completely respect that opinion, as I'm sure
a lot of people will. And who knows, maybe in time you
will find other things that work for you that
can replace medication..........and the medication can be
gradually reduced until...........
But then again I'd say if you need it, then you need it, and that's "OK"
too. In
some circumstances it'd be
kind of like telling someone who's diabetic that they shouldn't be so reliant on insulin.
It really comes down to what's best for
you.
So, the conflict with your meds doctor.........do you think there can be any sort of resolve or compromise going on there??? Or perhaps it would be better to try visiting another doctor, having another discussion, getting another opinion??? Maybe check around for options???
But
please don't just
stop the medication.
