How soon before bedtime are you giving her the Clonidine? Maybe adjusting time could help her body adjust, since it's technically not a sleep aid.
Eyes wide open, just five minutes?? One of the two meds is shown to have a side effect of aggression, hence, the importance of speaking with her physician.
As far as patience, are you utilizing your own individual therapy and making sure, that you take time to focus on yourself? Being a caregiver is draining
