Sorry didn't mean to offend or break any rules. See Im used to using library and college computers for my internet access. Its really cool that people like me who can't afford to get computers of their own being able to just walk in to any public access building - schools, librarys, and such and be able to use them for free.

the downfall is that the computers are for public use located in public which means that anyone and everyone can see what every one and anyone is doing on line. and believe me some people who use librarys are not happy about this because there are sites on line that are not appropiate for children and some lower teens but in the adult areas there are no blocks for porn and violent games and websites. so when parents with younger kids or teens are just walking around they get an eyeful and an educatiojn that is not meant for them.

So librarians sort of patrol up and down watching who is doing what where and allerting those frequenting such sites that require some confidentiality... and you know..

so I have a habit of not worrying about who sees what other than my keeping a book marker taped over the area where peoples names appear on on line support groups.

Unfortunately being a public library thats the only thing I can do to prevent librarians form looking at the computer screens and checking to see what sites are being visited and such.

So even though the libraarians and other people using this library can see what I am posting where and such I do what can to minimize exposure by blocking names and other personal information so that if I do have a question or need help running and using the computers confidentiality is kept as much as I can.

No one sees any of the members names because I have three bookmarkers taped to the screen. Most of the time I don't even know who I am responding to. because I have to lift up the marker every time I want to see someones name along the left side of the screen here.
