I think lithium is what stopped my suicidal ideation for quite some time. I did gain a significant amount of weight when I was taking it, however. It also made me sick to my stomach, and I shook like a parkinson's patient at the effective plasma levels (people kept asking me if I was nervous) so I had to stop taking it.
