kris, NOS stands for Not Otherwise Specified. What it probably means is, you have problems with anxiety, but your symptoms don't quite fit the diagnostic criteria for the specified anxiety disorders, such as General Anxiety Disorder. As LMo said, these numbers are primarily for insurance purposes, so the "NOS" category allows someone to be treated even if their particular disorder does not quite fit all of the usual criteria.

I am glad you had a chance to see what your diagnoses were. Awhile back, I peeped at my chart to see mine (they don't write them on our treatment plans). It's important not to focus too much on the "labels," but I do think it can help understand your symptoms to know what your diagnosis is.
