Thank you for sharing your story. I have OCD as well and was first diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, too. I have had symptoms of OCD since my early teens, but was not diagnosed until I was in my late 20's. In order to manage my symptoms, I too take meds and participate in therapy.

I understand your feelings completely. When I finally began to manage my OCD, I felt like a new person that had regained lost freedom and energy.

Your story sounds exactly like mine if you replaced "sexuality" with some of my career issues. I obsessed constantly and did endless amounts of research which deteriorated my efficiency and my quality of life until I ceased to function normally.
