To make apartment living somewhat bearable, I have several white-noise/nature sounds machines. I wear earplugs to bed every night.
I have music on all the time (except when watching TV or sleeping of course), even in the shower. I can't stand all the noises I hear daily: Esp. door slamming, the sound of HEELS, engines starting, people running, people slamming the dumpster lid, the sound of the shower above me, the leaf blowers, the garbage trucks, the gardeners hosing down the patio, etc. It all drives me batty.
I could on and on about all the sounds I hear. And of course nobody hears anything. Even when they tested the fire alarms, nobody heard them but me. They are ALARMS. "I didn't hear anything."
