Okay, that bit about the client asking her therapist about why his head was wrapped in bandages and his response, "What is your fantasy about my head being wrapped in bandages?" was hysterical. I'd have taken that as a cue to exit stage left Jeesh, do therapist really and truly, in this day and age, actually respond like that?????

The only internet search I'm interested in is: Is the person licensed? Is his/her license current? Where did he/she get their training? Are they in "good standing"? (meaning no sanctions or lawsuits etc.).

I personally don't want to look at their Facebook page or their spouses, kids, or other significant others page. Not condemning anyone who looks that stuff up. I'm just not interested for myself.

If he/she has written professional articles and/or books, I might investigate those because I think it goes to their thinking/thoughts/approach to therapy, which is important to me because I do tend to be analytical in my own approach to therapy and it might help me in my decision to whether or not we would be able to forge a solid connection. But the decision would be heavily based on our meetings in person.
Thanks for this!
