Appeal it...but be aware that because politicians in Congress think those on SSI or SSDI or applying for it are leeches taking money away from the One Percenters, they've cut funding to hire more administrative law judges and the disability appeal backlog gets longer. The VA screws veterans with PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder and a Congress that's owned by the powerful hopes we'll all die so they can shut down Social Security. If you don't have a lawyer, get one! The maximum amount they're allowed to recover is 25%, so, for example, if you get a lump sum payment of $10,000 dollars when you win, the attorney can't get more than $2500.
Four years ago, I was damn lucky. I filed my own paperwork, it drove me to the point of screaming, jumped through all the Social Security hoops and in two months, was awarded disability. I'm so sorry for the s***t they're putting your through. Get in touch with your Representative and Senators. Be a pain in the ***. Don't let them do this to you!

They sent me to a psychiatrist who also told me I should not work. He gave them several reasons why it would be difficult for me to hold a job. He told me I have some serious issues and if I didn't take care of myself, my life would go to hell fast.
Yet, they still denied me. The SSA has a lot if audacity to think they know better than the psychiatrists who evaluated me.
