My mother had an extremely difficult life and was not able to be there for me as a child—she left me when I was only a few years old. Now, she has a problem with addiction and she is not really able to be there for me (I am 36). I love her and I consider her my best friend. I have had to accept her and know that no matter what she does love me—and always had. I wish I could talk with her and get support from her…but…sometimes that just not possible. Don’t feel guilty about the resentful feelings—I think it is a natural reaction to the situation. Hey, we are human with real human emotions.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you to lose your mum. I feel for you. Please know that I will be here to listen. I am sorry I did not reply to your post earlier—I was not really sure what to say. More than anything, I really want you to know you are not alone—people here at PC are here for you.
