I agree. I grew up in an extremely musical household (thank you, Mom), and we were always around very musical people. That's just they way we rolled. Heck, my sister actually saw different pitches as different colors when she was a child.

But I've discovered there are people out there who really have never been exposed to music other than what they hear on the radio, and they really have no concept of the depth of connection musicians have to our music. When we talk about music, they just consider it a hobby; we know it is oh so much more than that.

My husband is one of those. He was an athlete. He's soul-filling activities always involved physical activities: running, playing sports, walking, fishing, etc. Music was just whatever was on the radio for the most part. My T is very much that way also. He's a very physical being. I get that since I'm married to that. My husband, at least, is learning. It's hard to spend 29 years around this family where everyone plays at least one instrument, sings, performs, etc. and not have it start rubbing off on you. My T, however, doesn't have that constant exposure and isn't at all interested that way, so it is just an area that I realize he doesn't get about me (any more than I get his focus on all things physical).
Thanks for this!
