The most my kids got for Easter was chocolate eggs that I hid the morning of and a trip to church.
I've screwed up plenty of times. Sometimes I offer a couple of options to make it better. Like, "Would it help if I hid some chocolate eggs and we had a late hunt?" or "What if we go pick out some Easter candy and eat a ton of if for dinner?"
Idk. Sometimes if you can do something weird-special, kids get happy again.
