Yea, but that defeats the purpose of having a profile picture. Also, it's not the act of people seeing my picture...

My attitude towards facebook and my account always was "I don't use it, I didn't even put a profile picture. I don't send requests, if someone sends me one, I will accept it" (this is what I told people). So if I decided to put a profile picture, that would be a "message" to people "hey I am here and I am using facebook", but still fearing rejection I don't send requests. Now, if people don't send me requests, I feel "not accepted" and this would cause me terrible pain. My friend told me it's stupid and yes, I agree, it is stupid when I try to think rationally. Well, that's why I'm in therapy.
