I too was being very scientific in regards to dreaming and what they are and what it consists of. It's basically a maintenance period for our body and mind and to keep us occupied while we are in this paralyzed state so we don't act out our dreams. The mind also uses this time as a memory dump period and reassigns new priorities to some memories and discards some. During this period we are kept occupied by dreams. There is absolutely NO scientific proof that dreams mean any thing. As it turns out however, if you want them to mean some thing, you can convince yourself they do. While we do know what dreams are and what happens, science can not explain WHY we need to dream. Because the body and mind can do everything it needs to do without dreams. I certainly do not fault anyone who thinks more of dreams then they are, after all the father of psychiatry Sigmond Fruad believed dreams mean some thing and analized dreams. Of course there are not too many psychiatrists these days that would agree with that

All I was trying to say was not to take them too seriously or try too hard to find some "meaning" that's all. Peace.
