That is interesting to me. I am in no way an expert or pretending to be one.
But I have read Native American stories that say that birds may be related to supernatural activity. You killing them would be a way or your way to defeat the communication of the supernatural to you.
The the visit from the person, who looked bored-bored may indicate limbo-a place of nothingness-just mere existence.
