Hi Icar... Welcome to PC. Aneurysms are scary things. Luckily it's been caught before it burst. Though it was in a different place than yours, I hope this helps some. My mom and her father both had abdominal aortic aneurysms. My mother's was caught early when they were doing an ultrasound to check something else. They monitored my mother for several years and when the aneurysm reached a certain size, they successfully repaired it. My mother was a smoker with emphysema and still did fine with the surgery. In the time between initial diagnosis and the repair, less invasive techniques were developed. Because my mother and grandfather both had these AAAs, I'm at an increased risk. I'm sorry that your sister is being so dismissive.

Your feelings are totally understandable. Therapy would definitely be helpful in helping you sort through your emotions. And there are alot of caring, supportive people here.
