Yes. I was involuntarily admitted to the hospital because I was suicidal (taken there by ambulance from my psychiatrist's office). The next day, I was given the option of changing my status to voluntary in order to avoid the judge and all the legal crap. I agreed. I ended up being stuck there for almost three weeks.
