[QUOTE=makeshift333;4396380]Okay I am 24, live with parents. I started seeing a psychiatrist at kaiser for bipolar mania and they referred me to a therapist. I dont have a consent to release information for psychiatrist or therapist. But I do have a consent for therapist to speak witj my psychiatrist regarding my prognosis. The chair of the therapist office said its recommended for my treatment.

The only problem is I am a dependant and my parents pay for my insurance. Can kaiser discuss my treatment with my parents

If u r a dependent as for financial reason, say on their income tax then u r an adult + have privacy rights in USA. If they r your guardian, then as such they can be informed just as if u r a minor. If your permission is required not theirs, that's dependence. The best thing is to talk to your T on what exactly + who exactly the T can release info. Same w psychiatrist. If this is a concern to u, u can have it in writing + an expiration date. When I was on psych meds both required it in writing so they could discuss meds.
