An invitation? Depends on the context. To go to your birthday or to go to a special place you know this guy like or a place you would like to show him. I think it's a good idea.
Anyway, I think it's better to do it face to face, in the way I told you in the previous post.
If you do the writing thing, ensure that you are going to dare to go to the meeting.
