First see if you really have high cholesterol. You take the total cholesterol and divide by HDL. Many people hit the ideal 3.5 and lower and are still considered having high cholesterol, which is plain insanity.

Females have no benefits from cholesterol meds. It's just a way of getting side effects.

We need cholesterol but it needs to be healthy shaped and we need a high number of "cleaners". This is done by cutting out refined sugar. Cutting out fat usually just makes numbers worse.
