Don't laugh but there is a non-surgical treatment for plantar's warts that even dermatologists use.

The idea is to smother it. You may find it via a Google search, as I can't remember the exact schedule...Cover the wart with duct tape (I said don't laugh!). The duct tape is left on for an amount of time (days?) the removed for a while, then replaced again.

It works. I've done it. Silly but true.
