Apparently my psychiatrist's computer has been down which made it so she couldn't get my emails easily. But she called and is quite concerned that I am so manic and need sleep so much. I'd been asking about adding Latuda since when I saw her last week she was talking about adding a little depakote which I hate and I knew I was the highest dose of Seroquel that she is comfortable using for very long.

She felt we had to do something NOW so I am off my antidepressant (it's a patch so I actually remove it and it has a long half life so it hangs out for quite a while after it's removed) until further notice and I'm going to take a very, very high dose of Seroquel XR (1600 mg) short-term to try to break this. After that happens I will have to go back to my usual dosing and I suppose add something then if needed. I'm also going back to valium pills since the liquid isn't helping and may be making things worse.

I'm supposed to call her again Friday and get the next step in this nightmare.

I'm glad I talked to her and I hope this works. I'm afraid I'm going to be incredibly sedated which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I hate being totally knocked out for several days, even when I know that's what I need to stop the mania. I'm just waiting for 8 pm and then I'm going to take meds and add the valium by about 10 and see what happens. If it's another awful night it will be that anyway and if it helps maybe I'll sleep it off. I had plans for tomorrow that were sort of important but I have a feeling those will be waiting for another time. Bipolar comes first.

I can't believe I'm going to be taking 1600 mg of Seroquel.......
